Site back on feet
Finally, our new, shiny website is up! This is big news as we’ve been working for a while to get here. The new framework opens up exciting possibilities.
We’ve spent a significant amount of time moving from our previous, temporary site. Of course there’s still a lot of work to do. We don’t yet have the comments turned on, the forum is still behind curtains, most of the content we want to share with you is still being revised so you might find a few empty pages and broken links. What else? Read on!
So yes, there are still issues – our gallery is only functional on the front page, and the Account and Store sections are still being finalized. You might have noticed that the huge tickers don’t have any images just yet. These are all issues that we are aware of, but we thought that launching early and fixing often will benefit us through your feedback and through us being able to share more in detail about our plans for the site.
The site might not be ready yet, however, there are many exciting things you might not be able to tell at first sight. Such a thing is the fact that the website is able to handle hundreds of thousands of concurrent visitors or more by scaling itself as needed. Being fast and responsive is key for the website in being useful. Since we’re planning to connect all kinds of neat things from the game to the website and back, we definitely wanted it to be blazing fast for everyone – no matter where you live.
In the coming days we’ll be busy filling up the site with content, fixing issues and enabling features such as the search option. We’ll be adding lots of lore about the game and its world, a FAQ section and a functional server status monitor. We will also open up public sign ups – alas, our testers will need to re-register and use these credentials to log in within the game. The forums and the option to comment should also become available right after registration is possible.
Some features will need to wait longer before they will be publicly available. We probably won’t have wallpapers for a while and the fansites and chat sections will also be put on hold until the official launch. The game store – where we’ll be selling virtual goods – will also debut close to the time of launch.
If you have any questions, please direct them at email@example.com – we’ll be answering those through our FAQ section on the website.
Hope you like the new outlook! We do. We’ll be pushing out updates on the status of the website as new features become available. Be sure to check back often, or follow us on Twitter to get the heads-up first-hand.
